Zoe's Third Birthday

Zoe's birthday was Friday!  Mommy worked all day that day, so we waited until Saturday for the big she-bang.  This was the first time (out of many to come, I am sure) that we stayed up late - going to the store for cupcakes, decorating, wrapping presents, etc. - to prepare for a party.

All three of us went upstairs to get Zoe this morning, and she was pleasantly surprised to see us all.  It took a few minutes for it to really sink in that it was HER birthday and SHE was getting a party - a party RIGHT NOW!

She still wanted to have her milk first, though.

The first thing we opened was a ladybug tent from Aunt Lora Lee.  It was a big hit.  We set it up immediately;  of course!

Next we opened a floor-sized seek and find book from Oma.  Zoe loves to look for hidden pictures, so she will spend many hours with this, I am sure.  We all looked for dogs in the first picture for a while until she realized she had more presents to open.

A new lovey made by Aunt Lora Lee.  It's soft and perfect!  She carried it most of the day.

An abacus from Oma.  Zoe was pretty jazzed about this.  "Beads!"  We showed her that she can count the beads.  We'll work on addition later!  I'm sure she will pick it up as quickly as she does everything else.

An underwater sea creatures book from Oma.  THIS was interesting.

Time for a cupcake.  CUPCAKES FOR BREAKFAST!!!

"Thanks to all the little people who helped get me this cupcake!"

After all the presents, it is time to get serious about playing in this tent.  Zoe brought her lovey and her abacus in to keep her company.

A few minutes later she asked for Soft Blanket and a pillow.

Then came the Underwater book.  Then a little nap.

Afterward, Zoe decided clothes were no longer necessary and that rain boots were.  Birthday suit!
