Lay Down... Roll Over!

Zoe turned 5-months old on Sunday, and she's made a lot of milestones this month.

Just this week, Zoe learned to turn over from her tummy to her back. We managed to catch one of these attempts on video today:

Zoe Rolls Over!

Zoe is also very close to being able to sit up on her own, which is great, because we're able to spend hours playing on the floor together with her toys.

She can manage to not fall over forwards, but she's still not able to master not rolling over backwards, but she'll get there very soon I think.

Monday is BGB's 5 month anniversary of being born, and she is celebrating early with all sorts of hard work in the development department.

Zoe has been working hard at rolling over, sitting up, and being fed with a spoon. She's come a HUGE way in a few short weeks. Today she rolled from her front to her back completely on her own!! You'd have thought I won the lottery. It's amazing how excited we get about things like that now.

Typically we sit her in front of us and play with her to let her work on her balance and keep her from falling.

Nana and NebNeb, you can see that she is, indeed, wearing pants!

We have also been feeding her rice cereal for a couple of weeks. She enjoys this, and has been eyeing our own food for quite some time, so I think she is going to be ready to move on to trying other Stage 1 solids very soon.

(Remember that if you are reading this in an email, you will probably need to go directly to the blog entry to watch this video - http://coffeeshopboy-sheshavingababy.blogspot.com/)

She has also been working on sounds. She's been having a running commentary to herself almost all day.

It's exciting and fun to play with her at this stage, since she is making so many discoveries. We look forward to every day! She is a happy, sweet girl who has made our life all the more lovely.

Christmas in Texas - Part Five

Jack II sent me the pictures from our trip out to Weatherford, so we wanted to be sure to post them here!

Big Daddy and Zoe. She's such a cutie when she grins.

Grandmommy and Dingo. Dingo was very scared of all of us, especially Jack. I guess no one told him that Jack is harmless! Dingo was about to warm up to me, but we left before we became friends. Next visit, perhaps.

Beautiful Lior and Zoe. Lior was home from school and made us yummy omelets. I think Zoe is intent on watching the Weather Channel in this photo. Understandable. It's hard to look away from the Weather Channel.

Jack II and Jack III on the horses. One day we will ride them without falling off!

Christmas in Texas - Part Four

While in Huntsville, Zoe and I went down to Lockhart to visit Great-Gran, Aunt Lora Lee, Aunt Linda and Uncle Larry. I had a lot of pictures from this visit, so I decided to make it a post of its own.

The day I drove down, it was 73 degrees outside when we left. Winter, schminter!

Gran gave Zoe a Christmas bear.

Uncle Larry showed us pictures of his and Aunt Linda's trip to Idaho.

Gran surrounded by her gifts!

Zoe got a candy-cane bear from Aunt Lora Lee. She was interested in getting its feet in her mouth.

Then she was interested in getting into Aunt Lora Lee's purse.

Then she wanted to roll around on Gran's bed. There was a lot to look at!

A good time was had by all, and Zoe charmed everyone, as she tends to do. :)

The biggest blessing in our lives is our big, multi-faceted family. The love we receive is incalculable. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas in Texas - Part Three

Our last stop before heading back to WI was Longview to visit Grandma Shirley. We had delicious meals and a great time just talking and hanging out.

Grandma bought Zoe the cutest little Christmas outfit. She was adorable.

Grandma and Zoe have a lot of fun together.

Zoe loves her Daddy!

We spent Christmas day with Grandma, opened stockings, and watched all-day repeats of White Christmas on Turner Classic Movies. What could be better?? We had to leave the next morning to get on the road to Wisconsin. Zoe isn't a fan of long car rides, but then again, neither are we. We decided we would never submit her to that car ride ever again. So we'll be moving home this April!

Next post: Zoe's trip to see her great-Gran!
